Was lied to and mislead
I am not their customer but my nephew is and we all share a plan . I am only authorized to have my phone worked on or upgrade but not to add anything or change his plan.
My phone wouldn't charge so I took it to what I thought was a main store and the sales rep told me if I traded my phone in that day I would get $160.00 in merchandise and their plan would go down if they signed up for auto pay . I said ok as long as he isn't changing anything o the plan they have now because I am not authorized to do anything like that. He assured me the only thing that would change is if they signed up doe auto pay so we proceeded. He then told me since my old iPhone 8+ was in such good shape he would give me a $150.00 in merchandise which I did and I ended up paying about 130.00 in all to pay off my old phone and taxes.
I asked for a copy of the form I signed that he told me was for trading my phone in was all and it would be emailed to the main customer( My nephew), I called my niece the next morning to tell her about the auto pay deal, and she checked, and he did in fact change their plan and took off her hot spot. I called him and told him, and he said he explained everything to me and I told him no he did not and I plainly told him I did not have authorization to make any changes to their plan he said I do to I am authorized I advised no I have limited authorization. He said there is no note on the account as to that but it's a funny thing the last 2 times I have gotten a new phone or done anything they have had to call my nephew to get his approval.
I told him I will bring everything back as nothing ha been opened except what he opened while I was in the store and he can just give me my old phone back and put their plan back the way it was, and he refused said once I traded my phone in he couldn't give it back to me, so I am sure either he or his girlfriend now has my like new iPhone 8. I asked to talk to the store manager, and he refused to let me and said he would give him a message to call me which he never did.
Preferred solution: My nephews plan put back as it was before the rep changed it and I will either keep my new phone and products or return them and get my old phone back that did not have the issue that I took it in for.
User's recommendation: Do not deal with Travis at the main store on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN he will flat out lie to you to get you to do what he wants.
